ILAN Summer Camps

ILAN's summer camp project serves a legion of disabled children and teenagers. During the long summer vacation most of these children, whether they attend special needs schools or are integrated into the regular school system, can not for the most part attend regular camps held by local municipalities, community centers, and the private sector. They are thus forced to spend their summer vacations shut in their homes without anything to do and without the possibility of taking part in leisure time activities. Read more

The therapeutic swimming program offers hydrotherapy to hundreds of children, adolescents, and adults from around the country who suffer from neuromuscular impairments stemming from infantile paralysis, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, and other conditions. Read more

Horseback riding provides disabled children experience in movement and mobility that their physical limitations deny them, helps lower muscular tension, improves balance reflexes, and increases their self-image and self-esteem. Read more

Personal Aid

ILAN is one of the only voluntary organizations in Israel to allocate a large portion of its budget to individuals in need of medical and para-medical treatments, rehabilitative equipment, and computers. The funds provide partial financing to individuals not able to cover the costs of all the treatments and accessories they require for rehabilitation. Read more

ILAN's Social Encounters

The young people's circle is a youth movement that provides a meeting place that integrates handicapped youth with non-handicapped. During the various activities it sponsors, direct peer contact is fostered among the participants as equals.

The adults' circle is a social framework for disabled adults over the age of twenty-one. It provides them the opportunity to extend their social circle and meet new friends, both handicapped and not, from their own age group. It also serves as a social support group. Read more
